Listen with your eyes- this is a great article for finding the physical roadblocks behind your band student’s performance problems. Instead of saying “clarinets, focus your sound” or “trumpets, you’re sharp” use your eyes to watch and observe your students and what may be causing their playing difficulties. Get off the podium and circle the room to better understand what the problem is. This article has great tips for improving your concert band and beginning band members tone, articulation, rhythm and more!
